Responsibilities:
Preparing detailed
material takeoffs
for residential construction projects from architectural plans.
Reviewing drawings for missing or unclear information and flagging issues.
Using
custom estimating software
.
Submitting complete, accurate work for review by a Senior Estimator or Project Manager.
Checking in with the Senior Estimator to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
Preparing and sending RFQs to sub-trades and suppliers as needed, ensuring alignment with project scopes.
Occasionally, helping newer team members learn the ropes.
What You'll Need:
Minimum 3,600 hours of estimating experience
in
Ontario residential construction
.
Excellent
English communication skills
--spoken and written.
Confidence in reading architectural and structural plans.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
and spreadsheets.
A
college diploma or university degree
in a related field.
Familiarity with the
Ontario Building Code
(Part 9) is essential.
