Responsibilities:

Preparing detailed

material takeoffs

for residential construction projects from architectural plans. Reviewing drawings for missing or unclear information and flagging issues. Using

custom estimating software

. Submitting complete, accurate work for review by a Senior Estimator or Project Manager. Checking in with the Senior Estimator to ensure alignment and continuous improvement. Preparing and sending RFQs to sub-trades and suppliers as needed, ensuring alignment with project scopes. Occasionally, helping newer team members learn the ropes.

What You'll Need:

Minimum 3,600 hours of estimating experience

in

Ontario residential construction

. Excellent

English communication skills

--spoken and written. Confidence in reading architectural and structural plans. Proficiency in

AutoCAD

and spreadsheets. A

college diploma or university degree

in a related field. Familiarity with the

Ontario Building Code

(Part 9) is essential.

Clear, professional communication is required daily--both within the team and when coordinating with external partners. We require a

minimum of 3,600 hours (approximately two years full-time)

of

hands-on estimating experience in Ontario residential construction

. This means that preparing complete, detailed estimates for full construction projects was a

primary responsibility

in your past role(s)--as opposed to an occasional or secondary task. We assess estimating experience carefully during the hiring process. Please be specific and honest about the scope and nature of your work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
