Job Description

Durose Manufacturing Limited is a leading provider metal fabricated and machined products, located in Guelph, Ontario. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team.

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom metal fabrication and machining projects. This role involves working on a full range of projects to perform complete estimates from receipt of bid package through final bid review, which includes understanding a scope of work, writing RFIs/RFQ questions, proposals, bid clarifications, and providing structured direct estimates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Identifying labor, material and equipment needs and costs based on drawings and specifications.

- Quantify number of hours to fabricate, machine OEM components.

- Quantify number of hours to fabricate custom fabrications.

- Quantify number of hours to fabricate structural and miscellaneous fabrications.

- Summarize quantities, prepare spreadsheets for alternate and separate prices as required for tenders

- Understanding and inputting information into our steel management software, which entails estimating, inventory control, and logistics tracking

- Coordinating, consulting, and communicating with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors as necessary and on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops

- Perform any additional duties per manager's direction

Required Experience & Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education and/or related industry/manufacturing/technical experience

- Minimum of 5 years' experience estimating metal fabricated products

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, welding, and assembly

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations

- Ability to work under pressure due to tight timelines

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multi-task and work well with others in a team environment and externally/ or independently.

- Previous experience with estimating software and AutoCAD would be considered an asset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
