Job Description

As an Estimator with Paladin Technologies, your main responsibility will be to maximize the award of profitable contracts by leading estimating and bid administration activities. You will work closely with the Sales, Design, and Project Management team to ensure that our customers are provided with the highest quality service.

A typical day could see you responding to an RFP, holding client meetings, working with project teams during installation, or planning for the closeout of a project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare cost budgets based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant materials Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and PMO to develop cost estimates for labor and logistics and detailed BOM Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents Compute and communicate costs through analysis of labor, material, and time requirements Engage subcontractors to augment Paladin's areas of expertise to provide a complete solution Obtain best product prices from manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors Maintaining technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, establishing networks Coordinating bid proposal development with all relevant stakeholders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of three years of design experience in the information technology and integrated security systems. A strong understanding of the physical security and/or IT industries, including an awareness of complimentary products, technologies, trends, and the general application of physical security technology Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required for this position. An understanding of and experience with fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications. Ability to create and edit design drawings, spread sheets, program sheets and projects handover documentation. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance, and having an existing clearance will be considered a strong asset A strong command of the English language supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and projects and be responsive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills Motivated self-starter with ambition to independently research new technologies as well as engineering and business methodologies/concepts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous and progressive experience as an Estimator in the low voltage industry with demonstrated success completing complicated estimates/designs involving access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, IP networks, intercom, duress, and/or structured cabling. Experience estimating projects worth between $250K-$500K or larger Experience working with some or all the following systems is preferred: + Access Control - LenelS2, Software House, Avigilon, Kantech, Genetec, AMAG, RBH
+ CCTV - Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec,
+ Intrusion - Bosch, DSC, DMP, Senstar, Southwest Microwave,
+ Network Switching - Cisco, Ruckus, HPE,
+ RTLS - Actall, Guard RFID,
+ Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) - Schneider, Omron
+ Structured cabling - Belden, CommScope, Corning, Panduit
+ Door Hardware - any- considered assets
Experience in a technical sales role or system design would be considered an asset. Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mac OS, and project / quoting software Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, or equivalent would be considered an asset Excellent organization and attention to detail

En tant qu'Estimateur/Estimatrice chez Paladin Technologies, votre principale responsabilite sera de maximiser l'obtention de contrats rentables en dirigeant les activites d'estimation et d'administration des appels d'offres. RESPONSABILITES :

Preparer les budgets de couts a partir de dessins, devis et autres documents pertinents. Travailler en etroite collaboration avec les equipes d'ingenierie, de ventes et de PMO pour developper des estimations de couts liees a la main-d'oeuvre, a la logistique et a la nomenclature detaillee (BOM). Identifier les besoins en main-d'oeuvre, materiaux et temps en etudiant les propositions, plans, devis et documents connexes. Calculer et communiquer les couts par l'analyse de la main-d'oeuvre, des materiaux et du temps requis. Faire appel a des sous-traitants pour completer l'expertise de Paladin et offrir une solution complete. Obtenir les meilleurs prix de produits aupres des fabricants, distributeurs et sous-traitants. Maintenir ses connaissances techniques en participant a des ateliers de formation, en consultant des publications specialisees et en etablissant des reseaux professionnels. Coordonner le developpement des propositions d'appel d'offres avec toutes les parties prenantes concernees.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES :

Minimum de trois (3) ans d'experience en conception dans le domaine des technologies de l'information et des systemes de securite integres. Solide comprehension des industries de la securite physique et/ou des TI, incluant la connaissance des produits, technologies et tendances complementaires, ainsi que de l'application generale des technologies de securite physique. Maitrise du francais et de l'anglais (bilinguisme requis pour ce poste). Connaissance et experience des concepts fondamentaux lies aux reseaux IP, a l'electronique basse tension, a l'alimentation electrique et aux communications. Capacite de creer et de modifier des dessins de conception, des feuilles de calcul, des feuilles de programme et la documentation de remise de projet. Les candidats doivent etre admissibles a une habilitation de securite; une habilitation existante sera consideree comme un atout important. Excellente maitrise de la langue anglaise, tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit. Capacite a gerer simultanement plusieurs taches et projets, et a s'adapter aux priorites changeantes dans un environnement dynamique. Solides competences analytiques et en resolution de problemes. Autonomie, motivation et volonte de rechercher de facon independante de nouvelles technologies ainsi que des methodologies d'ingenierie et d'affaires.

QUALIFICATIONS SOUHAITEES :

Experience anterieure et progressive a titre d'estimateur dans l'industrie du cablage basse tension, avec succes demontre dans la realisation d'estimations/conceptions complexes (controle d'acces, videosurveillance, detection d'intrusion, reseaux IP, interphone, boutons d'urgence et/ou cablage structure). Experience dans l'estimation de projets d'une valeur entre 250 000 $ et 500 000 $ ou plus. Formation postsecondaire en electronique, electricite ou domaine equivalent (atout). Excellente organisation et souci du detail.
