Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely project estimates, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, performing takeoffs from architectural drawings, and following up on outstanding quotes.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can coordinate projects seamlessly from the estimating phase through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Takeoffs
Analyze architectural and electrical drawings and specifications to perform accurate quantity takeoffs for roller shade systems.
Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for commercial and residential roller shade projects.
Identify materials, labor, and equipment requirements and compile costs accordingly.
Maintain and update unit pricing, material costs, and vendor/supplier databases.
Quoting & Follow-Up
Generate formal quotations and proposals for clients and general contractors.
Track and follow up on submitted quotes to gather feedback and secure work.
Update internal systems with quote status and client communications.
Coordination
Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, suppliers, and installers to ensure a smooth project handoff post-award.
Communicate project timelines, scope, and expectations clearly to stakeholders.
Support the project team with change orders, clarifications, and scope verification.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain organized project files, estimate logs, and correspondence.
Assist in developing standardized templates and processes for estimating and documentation.
Support post-project review and cost analysis when required.
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably within the construction industry.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications.
Experience with takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam) and estimating tools.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of motorized shading systems and control integration.
Understanding of LEED or sustainability requirements related to shading products.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for shop drawings (an asset).
Experience working with general contractors, architects, and designers.

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
