Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Estimator for the drywall and stucco division, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor services. This role involves working closely with both the office and field teams, taking off quantities, reviewing blueprints, and providing timely estimates for approval. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed on budget and on time by proactively identifying potential risks and solving problems efficiently.
The key job functions are:

  • Cost Estimation and Budget Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for both residential and commercial drywall and stucco projects. This includes materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
  • Blueprint Analysis and Quantity Takeoffs: Review architectural drawings, project documents, and specifications to perform quantity takeoffs, determining project requirements.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Source competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Risk Assessment and Problem-Solving: Analyze potential risks related to estimates, project timelines, and resources. Provide solutions to ensure project profitability.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with Marilyn, Dan, and other project stakeholders to ensure alignment on budget and scope. Provide regular progress reports and updates as needed.
Education:
  • A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential-both verbal and written-due to the collaborative nature of the role.
  • Strong computer literacy and tech-savvy. Must be comfortable using construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on residential and/or commercial.
  • Proven ability to manage costs and timelines effectively, ensuring projects stay on budget and schedule.
  • Experience coordinating with trades, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Familiarity with wall systems, material quantities, and construction methods is highly beneficial.
  • Experience using construction management software (experience with Builder Trends is a plus).
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and budgeting.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to adapt to a wide range of team dynamics in a family-run business.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, taking direction when necessary.
Base Salary: $5,500 - 6,500 per month
  • The salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
  • Health spending account included.
Work Hours:
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
Remote Work:
  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
