Position: Estimator

Reporting to: Manager, Estimating and Purchasing

Location: Calgary corporate office (on-site)

Job Purpose:



Reporting directly to the Manager, Purchasing & Estimating, the Estimator ensures all information, purchase order's and material take-offs are distributed to the appropriate departments and trades with a strong focus on detail, accuracy and cost control within the construction and estimating timeline.

Key Responsibilities:



Issue purchase orders and request for quotes in conjunction with the appropriate construction stage. Maintain cost control by ensuring accuracy of pricing from trades and suppliers, working within budget parameters, and reviewing invoices against purchase orders. Review and reconcile interior selections documents and quotes to ensure the process is completed within the given timeframes. Negotiate with trades and supply partners on model, option, and custom pricing as required. Administrate the issuance and analysis of tenders for quality assurance. Schedule estimating workflow according to department critical paths. Communicate with Sales, Construction, Interior Selections and Design departments to facilitate internal workflows. Complete quote reviews of custom project estimates requiring detailed analysis and construction experience. Complete purchase order summaries to determine profitability on an individual job basis. Support continuous improvement of procedures and software initiatives for maintaining efficiency Cross training with team members and support others during absences and vacation relief. Other accountabilities as needed and as directed by the Manager.

Qualifications:



A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience with a home building company. Diploma in Building Development Technologies (BDT), Architectural technologies, or related program. Able to work independently with little guidance. Comprehensive knowledge of residential construction. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Experience working with software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and BuildTopia is an asset. Attentive to detail, collaborative and a dedicated team player. A proactive self-starter who is very professional and highly organized.

Pay: $33,591.09-$123,808.62 per year
