Opportunity



Currently we are seeking to add an Estimator to our growing team. We complete a wide range of projects from small washroom upgrades to complex healthcare heating/cooling systems and medical gas systems. This unique opportunity is perfect for candidates seeking to complete estimates on a variety of mechanical systems across multiple industry types.

The Estimator will work on accurately completing quantity take-off's, bid invitations, subtrade and vendor bid levelling, proposal writing and design-bid proposal on a variety of rewarding projects. Our office is located in Burnaby, travel to/from different job sites will be required from time to time with this role.

Responsibilities



Reading and interpret drawings, specifications, and addenda across multiple disciplines Download/upload bid documents onto the company file sharing site Issuing bid invitations and tender documentation to subtrade partners and suppliers Follow up with subtrades and suppliers to ensure adequate coverage for each discipline prior to closing date Complete material take off's and estimates through our estimating software Prepare comprehensive estimates ready for review prior to projects closing Update bid boards and company spreadsheets to ensure information is always current Follow company procedures and protocols Gather feedback on bids from customers to ensure estimates are being accurately taken off and executed Partake in project handover meetings between estimating and project management Liaise with customers on upcoming bid opportunities Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and suppliers Attend a variety of preconstruction site visits to familiarise yourself with upcoming tenders Effectively manage and maintain all written and verbal project communications Maintain client satisfaction and promptly resolve any concerns Perform other tasks as required

Qualifications



Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project software Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and work with multiple deadlines
At least 1 of the following:

1 year of estimating experience in the Construction Industry Post-secondary education from a mechanical program 1 year previous project coordination / management experience 1 year of reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.

Please note that we are currently only accepting local applicants due to the required start time. Mechanical and/or plumbing experience is a strong asset for this role.
