Job Description

The Estimator serves as the lead coordinator for cost estimation and quotation activities for progressive, transfer, and fine-blanking stamped components, associated tooling, secondary processes, and assemblies. The role is accountable for developing accurate, competitive piece-price, tooling, and process cost estimates that align with customer requirements, internal manufacturing capabilities, and Theta TTS financial objectives.

In support of Business Development Department, the Estimator evaluates manufacturing strategies by analyzing tooling concepts, materials, production processes, cycle times, and secondary operations to determine the most cost-effective and technically feasible solutions for automotive programs.

The Estimator works cross-functionally with Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to validate assumptions, risks, and cost drivers throughout the quotation process. Depending on program complexity, the role operates independently or with guidance from senior technical or commercial leadership to ensure consistent, data-driven decision-making and disciplined quotation execution.

Job Responsibilities:



Consult with Technical Sales, Engineering, Process Engineering, and Manufacturing to develop detailed cost estimates

Collect historical cost data to validate estimated costs for current or future products

Prepare process layouts for the stampings and secondary processes

Prepare detailed cost estimate for all steps of the process utilizing calculation frameworks provided

Prepare customer cost breakdowns based on the estimate developed

Support Technical Sales during pricing negotiations by updating customer specific cost break down

Solicit input from Department Managers to validate capacity, cycle times, tooling concepts, and risks

Support customer RFQ reviews and commercial discussions

Develop cost strategies, identifying cost drivers and VA/VE opportunities

Ensure accuracy in all calculations

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:



Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Management, or equivalent experience

Minimum 3-5 years of technical sales, program management, or cost estimating experience in metal stamping, automotive, or industrial manufacturing sectors

Strong knowledge of metal stamping, press operations, tooling design, welding, and secondary processes

Ability to interpret CAD models, 2D/3D software and drawings, technical specifications and familiar with ERP/ERP systems

Proficiency in GD&T, APQP, PPAP, and FMEA methodologies.

Advanced competency in Microsoft Office.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across departments and with customers.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Results-oriented, with the capacity to work independently and under pressure.

No travelling restrictions into the USA - Mexico

Valid driver's license

Remain current in job related training and upgrading

Working Knowledge of ISO and IATF

Working conditions:



Work is performed in a manufacturing environment both in an office and plant floor

Appropriate safety equipment must be worn based on the task being performed

Dress code will vary from business formal to shop floor labour

Stressful and time sensitive

Overtime, off hour and on-call work is required

Travel between ThetaTTS operations and to customers and supplier is required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $43,000.00 per year
