We design, program-manage, fabricate, source, retrofit, repair/service, and breakdown/recycle all types of packaging - metal, plastic, foam, bags, bulk/standard bins and a variety of custom dunnage. We provide solutions to a variety of industries: automotive, industrial, alternate energy, electronic and aerospace.

Position Summary

The role of a Estimator is to help prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour, and suppliers. As well as designs based on bids, drawings, and specifications. You are responsible for preparing initial cost estimates for the required materials and applying the labour formulas provided. A few of the main duties of an estimator are helping create the proposal and understanding customer specifications. This position reports to the Department Manager or their designate.

Responsibilities

Prepares the package to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive informatio Responsible for identifying every single cost that goes into a project and requesting the applicable pricing Responsible for taking on each job and making accurate estimates, as well as actively looking to improve future estimates and results Identify and prepare accurate estimates of probable costs of materials, and labour Maintain tendering processes - following guidelines provided in the standard operation procedures Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers Collaborate with other departments by providing and receiving information and sharing insights Communicate directly with vendors by email and/or direct phone calls for material pricing and lead times Evaluate material and suppliers to determine best source and most competitive pricing Other duties as required

Requirements

College/University degree or diploma in related discipline or equivalent job experience and knowledge required Previous estimating experience (1-2 years) an asset Computer skills (Working knowledge in Outlook, Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.) Accuracy in all aspects of data entry, drawing interpretation and calculations Strong analytic abilities Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and word processing programs Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Ability to coordinate and work independently Ability to enter accurate data and calculations on appropriate documentation required Previous experience creating internal documentation and ensuring accuracy Consistency and efficacy are a must Must be knowledgeable, accurate, diligent, and analytical

Sitting for extended periods of time Clean office environment Travel to off-site locations may be required PPE will be required if entering the production area

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
