Our client is seeking a proactive and driven Estimating Manager to take ownership of their estimating department. This is your opportunity to lead, innovate, and make a real impact.
In this key role, you'll review blueprints and technical documents to prepare accurate project quotes, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate closely with builder estimators. You'll also measure roofing and exterior projects, support the Production Coordinator in resolving subcontractor issues, and ensure quotes are submitted promptly or adjusted for onsite changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key job functions are:

• Lead and Manage the Estimating Department: Provide direction, oversee workflow, and ensure high levels of accuracy and productivity within the team.
• Prepare and Review Bids: Conduct takeoffs, present pricing recommendations for approval, and ensure timely submission of final quotes.
• Blueprint and Technical Analysis: Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to guide estimating and project decisions.
• Collaboration and Problem Resolution: Work closely with builders, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, clarify scopes, and address on-site adjustments.
• Market and Industry Monitoring: Track material and subcontractor rates to maintain competitive and accurate pricing.
• Continuous Improvement: Engage in process enhancements, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Education:

• Completion of a diploma or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business or related field (asset)

Qualifications:

• Valid drivers licence

Experience:

• 3-5+ years of residential estimating experience, preferably with multi-family projects.
• 3+ years of leadership experience, ideally managing an estimating team or department.

Skills:

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong mathematical aptitude and critical thinking for data analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, and similar tools.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Consistent, dependable, and capable of solving problems with minimal supervision.

Base Salary: $85,000 - 95,000per year

• Salary based on experience.
• Full benefits package included

Work Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• 8:00 - 4:00

• This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
