Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Female Estimating Assistant to join our construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting the bidding process to secure new projects. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are financially viable and competitively priced, contributing directly to the success and growth of our organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a strong foundation in construction estimating and project management.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other project documents . Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information and negotiate favorable terms. Prepare detailed bid proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, overheads, and profit margins. Assist in reviewing contracts and scope of work to align estimates with contractual obligations and project requirements. Support cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets and identifying potential overruns early. Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, labor rates, and construction regulations to maintain competitive and accurate estimates.

Experience

Proven experience of at least 2 years in construction industry with a strong understanding of construction management principles. Solid knowledge of construction site operations, contracts, project management practices, and cost control techniques. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project costs. Prior experience in construction site environments is highly desirable to understand on-the-ground realities influencing estimates. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

Construction: 2 years (preferred) Blueprint reading: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Canadian Construction Estimator certification (preferred)
