Job Description

We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

This is a unique opportunity within Enterprise Risk Management for a strategic, innovative, and solution-oriented professional. The role is designed for someone who is passionate about advancing risk management practices to drive meaningful business results. It requires a dynamic collaborator who brings strong business acumen and excels at partnering with stakeholders to support organizational objectives.


About the day-to-day:




Support the delivery and continuous improvement of Enterprise and Operational Risk Management programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk framework and strategic objectives. Facilitate and support the Risk and Control Self-Assessment process, partnering with Business Units to identify, assess, and document key risks and controls. Facilitate and support the New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRA) process, helping evaluate and mitigate risks associated with new projects, products, and business changes. Operate, maintain, and enhance the Resolver Risk Management platform, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and user engagement across the business. Provide support for the corporate insurance renewal program where needed. Collaborate with the broader Enterprise Risk Management team to deliver key initiatives, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.

About the qualifications:




At least 2+ years of Operational or Enterprise Risk Management (ORM/ERM) experience with federally regulated financial institutions or equivalents. Solid understanding of risk management frameworks and principles. Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business to facilitate risk assessment and discussions. Familiarity with OSFI regulations or equivalents and key business processes (e.g., corporate governance, third party management, strategic planning, performance management, project management, risk management, and / or other areas, standards, and frameworks). Analytical and detail-oriented, able to interpret data and identify patterns or emerging risks. Organized and proactive, capable of managing multiple priorities and ensuring key Risk Management activities are delivered on time. Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, data analysis, visualization, and presentation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Strong critical thinking, problem solving, facilitation, and presentation skills. Effective communicator and adept at building professional relationships. Ability to analyze complex business issues, understand and leverage data, build tailored and practical solutions, and translate them into concise, actionable, and impactful recommendations. New or part-qualified CPA or equivalent (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) would be beneficial. Post secondary education in a relevant field (finance, business, accounting).

About the work environment:





Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times

Compensation:





Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $60,000 and $70,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
