Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.

Port Colborne is home to our Nickel Refinery where raw materials from our Sudbury operations are processed into electrocobalt and precious metals and serves as a distribution centre for finished nickel products.

Our Team:

The External Resource Management (ERM) team plays a crucial role in facilitating seamless operations by handling various tasks such as submitting service requisitions, managing purchase orders, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate cost reporting. This includes understanding the status and location of all invoices within the system, as well as the ability to forecast costs effectively.

By maintaining transparency and accountability in financial processes and accurately predicting future costs, the ERM team enables informed decision-making, optimal resource allocation, and efficient budgeting and planning. The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong collaborative communication skills, and a proactive approach to invoice management and cost forecasting.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking External Resource Management Administrators, to join our team in Sudbury. This is a unionized position with the Local 2020

The ERM Administrator is critical in its role to support the Operational Services team on administrative aspects of optimizing Capital Projects, Operating Projects and maintenance/operations contract work at the plant level in the Ontario Operations.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences \xe2\x80\x93 and that\xe2\x80\x99s what makes us great!

Accountabilities

In this position you will:

  • Create service requisitions, requisitions for the creation of continuous contracts, agreements, purchase orders and Service Entry Sheets for payment of invoices.
  • Review invoices and confirm adherence to commercial contract requirements (i.e. rates, terms, etc.
  • Track outstanding work (PO value) and create Estimated Service Entry Sheets for accruals.
  • Track PO and agreement balances against original demand plan. Enter data into tracking tools as required.
  • Input estimates and forecasts (cost/cash) into SAP Work Order system and/or tracking tool as required.
  • Create reports, perform document control and assist in the consolidation of SAP data and perform any other administrative work as required to support the plant
  • Support continuous improvement routines and problem-solving initiatives using the VPS framework.
  • Participate in all required safety training and apply the principles of HomeSafe during daily tasks.
  • Retain documents in accordance with established / instituted policies and legislative requirements. Perform duties in accordance with
  • Vale Safety and Health standards.
  • Administrative duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education: The successful candidate will possess a College Diploma in Office Administration or other associated Business discipline or equivalent. Consideration will be given to candidates with business related courses.

Experience: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of eighteen months of relevant experience in an Office or Business Administration role, preferably with Vale.

Computer Skills: Comprehensive knowledge and experience using various internal Vale systems such as: SAP (Maintenance, Req to Pay, SES), Service Requisition Form (SRF). Must possess strong keyboarding skills and advanced software skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Other Required Skills:

Further information will be gained through the technical interview, possible testing and reference check regarding other required skills (including abilities and knowledge, reading and writing skills, equipment knowledge) needed for the role.

Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, cost control and commercial contract requirements (rates).

Utilize system parameters to generate reports and analyze data.

Demonstrated Knowledge of SAP.
