Reporting to the owners, the Equipment Technician /Shop Lead is responsible for providing support to operations team be ensuring all equipment (

Heaters, Gensets, Pumps, Robotic Cutter system, Camera Inspection System

) is fully functional. He will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing any problem or failure and taking the necessary steps to return that equipment to functional conditions. That may involve finding and reading documentation and blue prints, finding and buying parts, repairing as well as coordinating external technical services.

When not performing maintenance tasks, he will also be responsible for:

work on special projects, maintain building repair initiatives, shop tools and equipment clean, and organize and well as sourcing operations supplies in the most cost effective manner trough planning and supplier (pricing and quality) bench marking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Performing repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of systems on electromechanical equipment, either at the shop or on site, Diagnosing problems, determining corrective action and undertaking repair; Escalation of required resources (internal & external) to effect timely repairs to reduce tool downtime, Tracking tool status tagging and labelling, Sourcing & maintaining tool spares inventory, Maintaining & updating preventative maintenance procedures & data collections, Interface with equipment vendors, Work both within a team environment to provide effective support as well as, independently on assigned tasks, Provide emergency coverage & support as necessary.

Education and/or Experience



Possess post-secondary courses in Electro-Mechanical, Electricity and/or Mechanics. Appropriate Technical Diploma with minimum 2 years relevant experience, or, Appropriate Associates Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical & chemical systems. ProKasro sewer Cutter and Aries sewer Video Inspection systems knowledge is an asset. Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Demonstrate professional conduct in the workplace, leading with excellent work habits, time management, productivity, quality and a high level of safety awareness. Identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, profitability, material utilization, and tool usage.

Physical Requirements



Physically and highly active role; Able to lift 25kg as needed (battery replacement, equipment loading and offloading); Bending, lifting, standing, wriggling into potentially awkward positions, crawling, laying while working; Able to work at heights with the proper personal protective equipment; Ability to respond to auditory and visual cues quickly.
