Job Description

LiftWerx is a specialized wind energy contractor which performs large corrective repairs, utilizing both ground-based cranes as well as up-tower cranes. LiftWerx offers both specialized equipment and experienced personnel to perform corrective repairs on a wide variety of wind turbines.

This role is an on-site position based out of our office in Cambridge, ON with frequent travel to job sites across North America.

Responsibilities



Responsible for working with engineering team, pre- and post-commissioning of equipment, to verify equipment capabilities, ease of use, and identify possible improvements. Responsible for the coordination, receipt, and QA/QC of new equipment investments being delivered to the company. This will be from concept, through inventory, assembly, testing and commissioning in the field. Responsible for assisting with overload testing of all equipment as required. Responsible for working with field teams to hand over new equipment, to ensure that they are knowledgeable in the installation and proper use of the equipment. Working with engineering and field staff to facilitate/design improvements on existing equipment/processes for safety and ease of use. Ensure that all work procedures and equipment manuals are in place and distributed to stakeholders prior to use of the equipment. Travel will be a large part of this position. Including but not limited to: Travel to and from site for equipment commissioning and hand-over. Travel to and from fabricators to verify quality of incoming equipment.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education & Experience:



Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical technologist or a relatable degree or diploma 1-3 years of experience in working with related groups with respect to Engineering, Field Operations, and Product Development Equipment documentation and administration, advanced understanding - including engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions Basic understanding of equipment design, fabrication and machining, inventory/quality control, hydraulic systems and transport/logistics Hands-on experience with tooling, equipment or manufacturing Forklift, overhead crane and rigging experience an asset
