Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equipment Operator r to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various tools and equipment. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating snow removal machinery and performing related maintenance tasks to keep our community safe and operational during snow events. This is a temporary, on call position for the Winter season, with the possibility of extension for the Summer season.

Duties

Operate snow plow trucks and other snow removal equipment efficiently and safely. Clear roads, parking lots, and walkways of snow and ice to ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians. Perform routine maintenance on snow removal equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing oil, and replacing worn parts. Utilize hand tools and power tools for minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed. Collaborate with team members to coordinate snow removal efforts effectively. Monitor weather conditions to anticipate snowfall and respond promptly to changing conditions. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours worked and materials used.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Experience using hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions while maintaining safety protocols. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report on job progress. Strong attention to detail to ensure thoroughness in snow removal operations.
