Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating a compact excavator and a strong understanding of construction processes. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of equipment on-site, contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment including compact excavators, safely and efficiently. Conduct routine maintenance checks and perform minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Preform site preparations. Dig trenches, backfill holes, and prepare sites for construction. Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks effectively while adhering to safety protocols. Assist in horizontal drilling operations as required, ensuring precision and accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is stored properly after use. Follow project plans and specifications to complete tasks within designated timelines. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other crew members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.

Qualifications

Proven experience in equipment operation with a focus on compact excavators. Safety awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk assessment, and the proper handling of potentially hazardous equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment. Valid commercial driving license preferred; ability to operate vehicles as necessary for job duties. Problem solving: Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and resolve operational issues. Familiarity with construction practices and safety regulations in the industry. Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
