Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for an Equipment Operator to join our team in our Winnipeg Recycling Plant located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating various equipment, including articulated trucks and backhoe; this may also include forklifts, loaders, backhoe, bulldozer, wheel loader, and excavators. You may also be responsible for including routine inspection and maintenance of equipment. We have lots of traffic at the Landfill and as part of your continuous commitment to promoting workplace safety you may be required to watch the public drop off pad, litter pick, shovel, mow lawns.

Rate: $19.50/hourly
Shift timing:
- Must be flexible for shift change.
- Starting shift - Monday to Friday -- 6:45 am \xe2\x80\x93 3:15 pm \xe2\x80\x93 with occasional Saturdays and holidays and may switch to 4:30 am \xe2\x80\x93 1 pm after probation.
- 8 hours shifts
- 3+ years of Heavy Equipment Operator or related experience
- Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
