Equipment Operator V - Streets

Are you looking for a diverse and exciting opportunity? Our Equipment Operator V - Streets may be the perfect fit for you! In this permanent, full-time position you will gain the experience you need for career progression within the organization. As an Equipment Operator V -Streets, you will take on a lead role in operating and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment to support road repair, and maintenance activities. This position is responsible for completing complex street operations, ensuring safe work practices, and providing guidance and direction to junior operators and crew members. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.

Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 1 with air brake endorsement (for operating a tandem with pup).

Minimum of one year's previous experience driving a tandem axle vehicle in city traffic and confined spaces, including three months' experience operating a roller, loader, and backhoe for road construction.

Minimum three months' previous experience in municipal road construction, including 500 hours of municipal operating experience on a grader.




For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

$38.438

7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (summer) 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (winter) OR 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM Weekends standby
