Equipment Operator - Solid Waste Operations

We are currently seeking a dependable and skilled

Equipment Operator

to join our team in the

solid waste industry

. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping operations efficient, clean, and safe. The successful applicant will operate heavy equipment and also be responsible for driving commercial trucks as part of daily site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including loaders, compactors, skid steers, and excavators at landfill or transfer station sites Safely load, move, and manage solid waste materials Perform routine equipment checks and minor maintenance Drive and operate commercial vehicles for waste transportation as required Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies Work cooperatively with site staff to maintain orderly and functional work areas

Requirements:

Valid

Class 3 driver's license

with air brake endorsement (Class 1 is an asset) Proven experience operating heavy equipment in industrial or municipal settings Previous work in the

solid waste or landfill industry

is a strong asset Ability to follow direction and work independently in an outdoor environment Physically fit, safety-conscious, and reliable

Schedule & Location:

Full-time, year-round position Work is conducted at a solid waste facility and includes weekend shifts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
