We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is operated safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Operate equipment as it applies to loading trucks, rough grading, detail excavation, trenching, ditching, sloping, and banking, material handling, stock piling and snow removal
Interpret grade stakes
Able to clean tracks
Perform pre & post-trip equipment inspection following standardized checklist as well as performing basic machine maintenance
Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Kichton Contracting Ltd.'s safe work practices, policies, procedures and local legislative requirements
Identify all hazards and potential hazards to site supervision
Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
Out-of-town work may be available
Qualifications and Competencies
Must be 18 years of age
Minimum 2 years' previous experience working as an Excavator Operator
Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
Valid CSTS2020 certification (free online course through ACSA)
Valid First Aid and Ground Disturbance II certification would be an asset
Work Schedule:
Monday to Sunday
10-12 hour shifts per day
Overtime as required
