As an Equipment Operator you are responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery to support daily worksite operations. This role ensures that equipment is used safely, effectively, and in accordance with company and regulatory standards. You will closely with site supervisors and crew members to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a safe and organized work environment.



Duties and Responsibilities:



Operating heavy machinery such as excavator, skid steer, forklift, and backhoe. Operating equipment in a safe manner. Performing basic construction, maintenance, and repair work. Checking equipment on a regular basis and reporting any malfunctions to Supervisor. Following project plans and specifications. Travelling to, and working at, various jobsites. Loading and unloading materials and equipment. Operating hand tools and power tools as required. Following safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Performing all duties assigned by the Site Supervisor and Foreman. Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:



Highschool diploma or equivalent; vocational or certification in heavy equipment operation preferred. Minimum 1 year experience with excavator, skid steer, forklift, and backhoe. Must have valid Class 5 driver's license. Class 1 or 3 license considered an asset. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Available to work overtime. Open to travelling to different jobsites. Minimum 6 months of experience using hand tools and power tools. Minimum 6 months of experience in construction industry and working on jobsites. Must have good oral and written English skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Dedication to upholding safety and quality standards. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
