HOURLY RANGE: $32 - 40
Wage subject to change in accordance with Project Labour Agreement (PLA) requirements. If travel is required, a Living Out Allowance (LOA) and applicable uplifts will be provided in accordance with company policy.
THE ROLE:
As an Equipment Operator in our Civil Contracting division, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a range of heavy equipment across diverse terrain and project types. From grading and trenching to utility installations and earthworks, you'll play a key role in the successful execution of projects across the region.
This role has multiple levels based on experience and competency, with clear progression pathways supported by our performance review system. Whether you're just starting out or are a seasoned operator, there's a place for you at Acres.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities and Duties
Operate a range of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Complete daily inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment.
Identify issues and coordinate with mechanics for repairs and upkeep.
Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation.
Follow supervisor directives and complete related tasks as required.
Adapt to various outdoor conditions and terrains.
Maintain safety as a top priority on every jobsite.
Equipment Operation (by Level)
Level 4 - Operates 50-350 class excavators, graders, and dozers. Experienced with mainline work and safe digging around utilities. 6240+ hours experience required.
Working Conditions
Constantly sit and drive/operate assigned equipment
Exposure to asphalt and concrete dust
Carry out tasks under unpredictable outdoor condition and in urban areas
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Able to listen, communicate and take direction
Able to work individually and as a team
Flexible to work in diverse departments with different crews
Detail orientated
Committed to safety; reflected in practice and experience
Strong interpersonal skills with values aligning to those of Acres
Thorough knowledge of pipe types and fittings
Strong understanding in shoring requirements for excavations
Experience in civil construction and have installed piping materials such as HDPE, ductile iron, PVC, CSP as well as stainless steel custom piping
