Job Description

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a

full-time Equipment Operator II.

This position is responsible for the overall integrity of the municipal roadway system while ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with municipal standards and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate a grader to remove snow, grade roads, and ensure proper drainage. Perform pre-winter, spring, and summer maintenance on roads. Operate all heavy equipment which includes but is not limited to trucks and pups, excavators, crawlers, track hoe dozers, and graders. Must be able to follow grade stakes. Transport equipment and ensure proper cargo securement. Ensure access to houses, businesses, water sources, and waste sites. Maintain easements, roads, and transportation systems ensuring safe conditions. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks while also maintaining equipment inventory. Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored. Clean equipment as scheduled and/or as needed. Advise the Transportation Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs. On call rotation and night shifts may be required. Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
Qualifications:

Grader operator experience is required. High School diploma or equivalent equipment operator experience to meet the requirements of the duties and responsibilities. A valid class 1 driver's license in good standing would be considered as asset. Minimum of five (5) years' experience preferred. Demonstrate interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Must provide a Criminal Record Check with satisfactory results.
