Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced permanent full-time Equipment Operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator would work at the West Dried Meat Lake Regional Landfill and is responsible for the operation of assigned equipment for the maintenance at the Landfill as per Alberta Environment regulations. The Equipment Operator will also be required to accurately document and record safety processes, work and inspections undertaken using the County's electronic format. This is a full-time permanent position with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment (Compactor, Loader, Dozer, Water Truck, Skid Steer, and Scraper)

- Scale House operations (weighting trucks, dealing with the public, directing traffic)
- Safely and efficiently operate equipment to complete assigned tasks
- Follow project plans and specifications to ensure accurate and precise work
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while operating machinery
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner

- Grounds maintenance (picking litter, recycling operations, tidying site)
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

Qualifications:

Valid Class 5 Driver's licence.

Working knowledge of computers and smartphone applications.

Clean driver's abstract and criminal record.

Minimum five years' experience in the operation of equipment

Physical capability to perform heavy manual tasks.

Available to work non-regular hours if required.
