Job Description


International Point of Care, Inc. (IPOC) develops, manufactures, and supplies unique Point of Care rapid tests, biological reagents, and raw materials for the in-vitro diagnostic industry. IPOC is seeking energetic, self-motivated individuals who can work in our Engineering Team.
This position will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of Research Use Only instruments sold by the Company, write and maintain documentation for equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance in the installation and maintenance of company equipment
  • Perform equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures and accordingly develop corrective actions.
  • Develop improvements to enhance equipment reliability and scalability.
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures to reduce equipment failures.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements.
  • Work with management to execute plans and develop equipment specifications for future products.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of Validation Plans, Equipment Qualification Plans (IQ/OQ/PQ) and Risk Management documentation, with adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Test and approve new equipment before handing it off to production.
  • Develop cost-reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Act as primary contact for equipment performance-related questions and concerns.
  • Communicate with customers regarding RUO instrument service needs
  • Ensure serviced equipment conforms to Instrument Manufacturers’ operating requirements
  • Maintains department documentation such as database updates and inventory records
  • Complete work on schedule in keeping with priorities determined by the Department Head
  • Interact and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and instrument manufacturers as required
  • Responding to customer requirements, liaising with suppliers of raw materials, and resolving equipment problems
  • Provide training and direction to colleagues as required
  • Help keep facility clean and organized
  • Ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with established safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time
Education and Experience:

  • Engineer Degree in Mechanical with 3-5 years related experience in an equipment service role.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electronic instruments for external customers
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting equipment
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics
  • Knowledge of computers, electronic equipment, inspection equipment, and test measurement equipment required
  • Experience following Standard Operating Procedures or similar protocols
  • Strong detail orientation
