Our collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of 250+ includes experts in Small Animal and Equine Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency & Critical Care, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Rehabilitation.

King Animal Hospital is seeking a Board Certified (ACVS or ECVS) Equine Surgeon to join our team.


Who We Are:





King Animal Hospital is a new, privately owned, 60,000 sq ft. Equine & Small Animal Referral & Emergency Services Hospital.



As we innovate and evolve, we are adding a new facility on the same fifty acres dedicated to Emergency Equine Surgery. This will compliment our existing facility, staff, and services in elective orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.



You will join our Chief Medical Officer of Equine, three (3) highly esteemed and experienced board-certified surgeons, anesthesiologist and a dedicated support team of dedicated Registered Veterinary Technicians and Animal Care Attendants. All veterinarians will share in rotating on call duties to ensure the best care for our patients.



You will work with advanced diagnostics including a Siemens 1.5 MRI, Robotic Arm CT scan, Scintigraphy, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Arthroscopy and Laparoscopy Towers, and Endoscopes, 6000 sq ft equine ring, equine rehabilitation water treadmill, and in house lab and pharmacy.

The facility houses a corporate gym, and we provide free education and one on one coaching/counselling with a corporate social worker to provide you with the tools to regulate your nervous system, manage emotions, improve relationships, and build resilience to prevent compassion fatigue.



King Animal Hospital will also offer the following:


We will help you with obtaining a work permit and pay all legal fees for the immigration process and for the fees associated with obtaining the work permit. We will provide you with compensation and support to help you with relocation costs. We will provide additional support in helping you find a place to live and settle. Competitive salary (we are not a production-based compensation hospital, but our guaranteed salaries are competitive) Signing or retention bonus Paid annual vacation at a minimum of 4 weeks based on experience. Annual time off to pursue training and conferences. Annual amount to pay for yearly training and conferences. Ten paid statutory holidays per year Sick days and Personal days. Annual dues will be paid for the ACVS or the ECVS 100 percent of your health benefits premiums will be paid for by King Animal Hospital and the benefits include health, dental, vision care, travel insurance, life insurance and more. Who You Are:




You are a strongly skilled and experienced Equine Surgeon that is interested in working in a new privately owned hospital focused on compassionate care, and innovation.

Education

:


ACVS or ECVS Board Certification in Large Animal/Equine Surgery

Licensure

:


Licensed to practice in Ontario or eligible to obtain licence.

Experience

:


Minimum of 5 years of experience in equine surgery. Experienced in a variety of surgical techniques and procedures. Experienced with advanced diagnostic procedures. Experience in sports medicine is an asset but not required.

This role demands a high level of expertise, compassion, and a commitment to providing the best possible care for our equine patients. Collaborative team player and open to new ideas to evolve the practice. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. Excellent surgical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations. Compassionate and effective communication skills with clients and team members.
