Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Provincial Director of Infection Prevention and Control and, working closely with the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control and IPAC leadership team, the epidemiologist is responsible for the ongoing development, use, and evaluation of a comprehensive and integrated provincial infection prevention and control surveillance system to support timely evidence-informed decision-making at all levels of NSHA. Other responsibilities include investigation of outbreaks/clusters, using epidemiologic tools to evaluate interventions and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to translation of data into institutional best practice and policy, and the conduct of applied epidemiological research. This work is used to inform all aspects of a comprehensive and provincially integrated Infection Control Program to achieve the best outcomes in health care program and service delivery.The Epidemiologist assists in the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections, including infections with antimicrobial resistant and epidemiologically significant microorganisms in the healthcare setting by translating research into practice. They provide leadership in the design, conduct, analysis, reporting and publishing of research, quality improvement and administrative surveillance projects related to infection prevention and control.The position provides expert advice and leadership in epidemiology and surveillance and provides statistical and epidemiological analysis of infection prevention and control data to support research, decision making, planning, and policy development. The Epidemiologist assists in the identification and evaluation of issues that may jeopardize patient safety and advances the epidemiological and surveillance decision support, information management and knowledge translation functions for the infection prevention and control program.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
