We are interested in receiving resumes for Material Handling Coordinator at the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Mine Expansion site on a 2 week in 2 week out rotation, with 12 hour long shifts. The site is accessed via air from designated pick-up points in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Key Responsibilities

  • VBME Site Point of Contact for all materials required to support Construction Contracts.
  • Work closely with engineering, expediting / material control, warehousing, construction and contractors to track all materials to ensure availability as per schedule requirements.
  • Liaise with the Materials Management Team to understand status of materials.
  • Regular and timely review of existing material reports to understand status of all on-site materials. Develop additional tracking lists and reports as required.
  • Work with expediting team in tracking and prioritizing materials for execution as per the construction schedule.
  • Participate in the prioritization of cargo for delivery to site and prioritization of materials to be received at site by the Materials Management Team.
  • Coordinate with Contractors on materials required for Construction. Act as Single Point of Contact for contractor requisitioned Free-Issued materials and ensure contractor held accountable and accurately tracks Free-Issued materials issued to date.
  • Assist contractors with tracking and identifying materials \xe2\x80\x93 contractor supplied and free issue.
  • Support Warehouse in the timely resolution of Materials availability issues.
  • Audit material requisitions to ensure materials: meet requirements, intended package, and accuracy.
  • Keep team members informed with daily updates.
  • Proactively search incoming inventory to ensure shortfalls are prioritized correctly.
  • Review Quality Surveillance Reports (QSRs), Overage, Shortage and Damage (OSDs), Non-Conformance.
  • Reports (NCRs), ECNs (Engineering Change Notices), FWIs (Field Work Instructions), RFIs (Request For Information), Punch Lists, etc. to ensure issues are being actioned appropriately on a priority basis.
  • Notify VBME Surface Construction Management of concerns and suggested solutions and options to achieve the planned VBME Subsystem Turn Over Dates.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an industrial material management/project construction environment.
  • Experience working with and knowledge of electrical equipment and cabling.
  • Experience working in an underground atmosphere would be an asset.
  • Solid understanding of and experience with contractual agreements and responsibilities from a material handling standpoint.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and technical documents with respect to material handling.
  • Safety focused in the field, ability to prioritize self and others.
  • Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office; specifically, MS Excel - database management with the ability to confidently input, check, and update information with accuracy.
  • Valid Class 5 driving license is required.
  • Required to spend large amounts of time outdoors in the laydown areas.
