We are interested in receiving resumes for Construction Completions Superintendent . This is a site project term position on a 2 week in 2 week out rotation, with 12 hour long shifts. The site is accessed via air from designated pick-up points in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Construction Completions Superintendent will report directly to the Construction Completions Lead and oversee all contractors for surface construction with respect to construction completions activities. Ensure best business practices are being implemented and used, ensuring the highest level of service support and safety and environmental procedures are being provided from the various site-based contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field support for all Construction Completions activities.
  • Follow-up with contractors for Walkdown Packages and MC Dossiers.
  • Administratively reviews the Walkdown Packages and MC Dossiers and ensures completeness of the packages.
  • Reviews QSR / RFI / NCR Logs and ensures the queries are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Check readiness of punch list documentation; review and verify punch list entries.
  • Participate in post-walkdown meetings to review all punches identified during walkdown and come to a consensus from all walkdown participants on punch description, punch class as defined by the project and responsible party to clear punches.
  • Coordinate the monitoring and audit of punch list clearance to support Project schedule.
  • Review subsystem status worksheet to push closure of subsystems in field.
  • Review punch list management tracker to push closure of punches on walked subsystems.
  • Interfaces with contractors in field to facilitate and overseeing construction completion activities.
  • Works with VBME Superintendents to assist in closing out of subsystems.
  • Scope review and verification to ensure new scope being added is tracked and implemented prior to construction completion or not included in contractors scope to prevent any schedule delays in subsystem turnover.
  • Review of contractors schedules to ensure contractors schedules reflect correct focus of contractors\' construction team on required subsystem turnover.
  • Other duties as required by Construction Completion Lead.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Skilled Trade Certificate or Diploma in any discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Completions activities of large construction projects.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in working as a client overseeing construction contractors.
  • Knowledge of project design and execution stages.
  • Experience in reviewing MC Dossier and signing of punches; working knowledge of Hexagon is preferable.
  • Experienced in reviewing Walkdown Packages and MC Dossiers, understands system priorities and schedules.
  • Experienced in verification and close out of the punch list items and site queries to facilitate system MC.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; including presentation skills to be able to convey both factual and conceptual information requiring detailed explanation and interpretation to colleagues, specialists, and other business representatives.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with a variety of people/disciplines both internal and external to company.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point. Working knowledge of Smart Completions software from Hexagon is preferred.
  • Be able to evaluate the workforce, direct and mentor the supervisory staff where necessary and coordinate training requirements for employees and contractors.
  • Ability to stand or sit in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally required to stoop or lift light material or equipment.
  • Ability to be occasionally exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort.
