Join our today!We are interested in receiving resumes for Commissioning Technical Support - Turnover & Completion. This is a site project term position on a 2 week in 2 week out rotation, with 12 hour long shifts. The site is accessed via air from designated pick-up points in Newfoundland and Labrador.The VBME Commissioning group is responsible for: pre-commissioning (S2) tasks required to verify equipment / component integrity; and, cold commissioning (S3) tasks required to verify logic and controls will function as designed. The newly constructed process systems have been divided into commissionable sub-systems consisting on mechanical equipment, piping and electrical power & controls.The Commissioning Group will primarily consist of Lead(s), Commissioning Technicians, and Commissioning Technical Support. Each group is supplemented with a construction team, a controls team and an electrical team dedicated to the Commissioning group.The position of VBME Commissioning Technical Support - Turnover & Completion coordinates the Completion activities as it pertains to the field execution of project tasks. The position will be a direct report to the VBME Completions System Lead.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation on a day-to-day basis of a strong health and safety culture in line with Vale\'s Safety and Health and Environment management system.
  • Champion the completion system and turnover process.
  • Participate in construction meetings.
  • Review Scope of Work and Engineering Change Notices to make sure scope assigned to the sub-system has not changed.
  • Review contractor as-built documents to make sure conforms to project standard.
  • Provide guidance on the use of the electronic completion system.
  • Organizing and facilitating Transfer of Custody walks between construction contractors.
  • Organizing and facilitating Final Walk-Down with Contractor and Vale Commissioning.
  • Maintain construction & commissioning punch lists;
  • Facilitate partial turnover process between construction and pre-commissioning / commissioning.
  • Overall coordination & agreement between construction and commissioning for sub- system turnover.
  • Driving final subsystem completion for construction.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with various project disciplines and the operating group.
  • Other related duties as required.
Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful candidate must have one or more of the following:
  • Strong understanding of construction and commissioning activities as it pertains to project completion and turnover.
  • Previous field level experience on completions / turnover process on large projects.
  • Previous experience with Vale Commissioning\'s completions / turnover group is seen as an asset.
  • Previous experience with electronic completion systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the understanding of construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Comfortable working in a team-based environment while possessing the ability to manage and prioritize day to day duties and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use MS Excel & Outlook.
  • Strong Organization Skills
  • Strong Communication Skills, both Written & Oral
  • Valid Class 5 driving license
  • Safety focused in the field, ability to prioritize self and others
