Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an Environmental Student to join our Vale Newfoundland and Labrador Operations in Long Harbour, NL. This is a fixed term (8 weeks or 16 weeks \xe2\x80\x93 depending on the program) position.As an Environmental Student, you will have the opportunity to further your development by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Environment Department. You will also gain a deeper understanding of our company and our sustainable approach to mining via exposure to other Vale operations in Canada and our global headquarters in Brazil. Additionally, in this position, you will:

• Implement, assess, and interpret Environmental Protection Procedures.
• Provide advice to LHPP Supervision on site environmental matters.
• Conduct environmental audits and investigations.
• Conduct environmental sampling and testing.
• Monitor projects to ensure environmental compliance.

About YouEducation:

• Currently enrolled as a student within a related program.

Experience:

• Previous work experience in an industrial setting would be an asset.

Skills:

• Knowledge of environmental sampling techniques (groundwater, surface water, soil, and air) would be an asset.
• Ability to work with various groups to ensure work is completed on time while minimalizing the impact on the environment.
• Time management skills to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, safely, and efficiently.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, strong proficiency in Excel an asset.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
