Under general supervision of a registered professional engineer, creates basic to moderate complexity water and waste water treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc. engineering-related designs to meet client project requirements.

  • Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
  • Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary.
  • Performs water quality analyses and modeling.
  • Contributes to firm\'s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.
Note: All engineering-related work is reviewed and approved by a registered professional engineer.

Project Specific Requirements:

For the Annacis Island WWTP CCSC Project, work as a Construction coordinator, and perform the following duties in addition to the above:

Using various document control technologies (ProjectWise, SharePoint, Viewpoint) to upload response comments to client\'s Task Requisition Forms.

Coordinating safety-related tasks on behalf of the Plant, such as:

Issuing and updating Independent Workplace Establishments for 10+ projects.

Updating 3-Deep emergency contact lists for each project.

Enforcing contractor work site delineation requirements to ensure safety of all workers.

Accounting for safety of contractors/visitors by calling safety representatives during plant musters and reviewing plant sign-in sheets daily.

Coordinating safety orientations for visitors to the plant.

Engaging various stakeholder groups from various projects (e.g., MV Plant Operations, MV Plant Maintenance, MV Project Managers, Construction Managers, Contractors, Engineers, etc.) to ensure smooth construction progress and to minimize disruptions to the plant.

Coordinating construction activities for projects with constantly changing work scopes and MV project managers. All projects are at various project phases.

An example is coordinating MV Plant operators/utility workers to perform and complete lockout procedures by a certain time for contractors.

Facilitate technical and non-technical solutions to conflicts between various stakeholder groups.

Leading discussions with client project managers to provide a high-level overview of projects at the plant.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.

1 year of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to register within 12 months of hire as EIT are preferred
