Canada North Environmental Services (CanNorth) is an established First Nation-owned environmental services firm with an impeccable track record and a highly respected reputation. CanNorth has a strong foundation and proven expertise in Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments for First Nation clients and is looking to increase its capacity in its environmental division.

CanNorth is seeking a highly motivated ESA Project Manager/Geoscientist to work with our talented and innovative multidisciplinary team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Responsibilities in this position will include:

• Managing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, groundwater monitoring and sampling programs, and remediation programs for First Nation clients including the completion of safety plans and ground disturbance procedures.
• Completing field work including drilling, soils sampling, monitoring well installations, groundwater sampling, remedial excavations, etc.
• Field staff management, client management, contractor management, scheduling and budgeting.
• Preparation of technical reports and proposals, performing peer reviews and stamping professional work product.
• Understanding of applicable regulations and regulatory guiding documents.
• Liaising with First Nation clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors in a professional manner.

Applicants should have a degree related to Environmental Science or Geoscience and be registered or eligible for registration as a professional geoscientist in Saskatchewan (APEGS) or a professional Agrologist in Saskatchewan (P.Ag). The ideal candidate would have at least seven years of experience, but all applicants with relevant experience will be considered. Experience in managing Phase I and II ESA programs for First Nations clients will be considered an asset. The candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills, be dedicated to high quality results, and use their creative thinking to find solutions to complex problems.

The successful applicant must be a team player, highly motivated and organized, able to work with a range of personalities, and have a positive attitude. Applicants must have a valid driver's license. This position entails field work; thus, applicants must be willing/able to be away from home for periods of time. Field work will regularly require working in rugged terrain; strong outdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience operating trucks with loaded trailers, ATV's, and snowmobiles is an asset.
