CWP Environmental has been growing rapidly and is looking for an ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST I to help us continue this growth. CWP Environmental is part of the Riverdale Inc family of companies with specialitys in environmental assessments, remediation of water resources, drone services and marine sales.

CWP Environmental offers various industries phase 1 and 2 environmental assessments, reporting, monitoring and case studies. Other services include bacterial treatments, pond dyes, and vegetative management solutions (in the water and on the shore).

The position of

Environmental Scientist I

is critically important, as the successful candidate will be in direct control of research, water assessments & remediation, equipment maintenance and installation delivered by our company. The incumbent must be 100% dedicated to providing the very best in customer care and attention to detail.

To create and coordinate case studies, write reports, conduct environmental assessments, analyze bodies of water in the field and in the lab, install systems, apply remediation treatments and maintain systems. Candidate must me be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Candidate must be willing to learn about aquatic ecosystems. Record keeping and report writing a must. Ability and desire to work and learn about nutrients, aquatic species and analyze the surroundings.

You will report to the Environmental Operations Manager . You will work as team and work independently at times. And you will, for sure, be expected to bring new ideas to the table.

Job Specifications- Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (TDR's)



Comply to all safety regulations and report any hazards to the proper authority

Assessing bodies of water- samples, examining aquatic weeds, invertebrates, algae and ecosystems

Boat and drone operation

Installing aeration and other technologies

Maintaining systems and applying environmentally friendly treatments

Create and over see development of case studies

Report writing and record keeping

General duties - organizing stock and tools

Run Laboratory tests

Performing any other tasks required by Manager

Responsibilities



30% - Assessing bodies of water- samples, examining aquatic weeds and ecosystem in field and laboratory

20% - Design and conduct case studies, environmental assessments, and research projects

20% - Maintaining systems and applying environmentally friendly treatments

15% - Report writing and record keeping. General duties - organizing stock and tools

5% - Installing aeration and other technologies & member of the safety team

5%- attend tradeshows, networking events etc. and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Naturally friendly communicator with the ability to speak with stakeholders and peers

An ability to produce meaningful concise reports and record accurate data

Along with a strong working knowledge of the customer care, you must have a personal desire to set and achieve personal and team goals.

Enthusiasm and the ability to dedicate a high level of energy to job-related duties are required.

Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication (writing, editing, formatting) in the English language

Must have high degree of computer literacy in a Windows environment (Word, Excel, QuickBooks and Power Point)

Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision

Must be capable to lift 75 lbs

Must be alert and resourceful and be able to interact with a cross section of individuals

Must be able to demonstrate patience and perseverance, and embrace change when it occurs

Must have experience conducting experiments or designing experiments

Credentials and Experience



Degree or recent grad in Enviro Sciences, Science, Biology, Agriculture or Engineering

First aid/CPR training an asset

Boat operators license asset

Advanced drone pilot license is an asset

Clean driving record

Interest in science and water remediation

Laboratory experience

Report writing experience

Social and networking abilities a strong asset
