We are looking for an

Environmental

Specialist to play an important role on Land Quality and Remediation team in Edmonton, AB. Whether you are an early or mid-career professional, we want to hear from you.



In this role, you'll put your passion for fieldwork and the environment into action by supporting and leading programs focused on the assessment, monitoring, management, and remediation of contaminated sites. You'll work on a wide range of projects across urban and remote locations, including oil and gas facilities (upstream, midstream, downstream), commercial and industrial properties, and federal and municipal sites.

As part of the project life-cycle, you'll collaborate with project managers on budgeting, planning, coordination, data analysis, technical reviews, and reporting. No two days will be the same, and your initiative and problem-solving skills will be rewarded with opportunities to take on responsibilities that promote both personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:



Lead and support field programs related to site assessment (i.e., Phase I, II, and III ESAs), monitoring, remediation, and reclamation at a variety of sites (oil and gas, industrial, commercial, and government). Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and field teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support environmental site assessments and prepare technical reports. Collaborate with project managers on planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client communications. Contribute to project deliverables including proposals, work plans, technical memos, and regulatory submissions. Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff during field programs and report preparation. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on all projects. Build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulators by providing reliable and practical solutions.

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:



Degree or technical diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. Minimum of 4 years'experience in contaminated sites work, including leading Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation programs. Experience with various contaminants of concern including hydrocarbons, salinity, and/or sampling for PFAS is a significant asset. Passion for fieldwork, with the flexibility to travel and work away from home. Solid understanding and practical application of health and safety requirements related to oil and gas facilities, construction sites, subsurface investigations, and contaminated sites. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, including in remote locations and under variable site conditions. Professional designation or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional organization (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., E.I.T., G.I.T., P.Tech., C.E.T.) preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites and client locations.
