Your Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced environmental services professional or emerging leader with a strong maintenance or skilled trades background. Reporting to the Administrator, the Environmental Operations Supervisor will lead our housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight to housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance staff.
Coordinate both in-house teams and contracted service providers to ensure high-quality services.
Apply trade knowledge to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to minimize service disruptions; Perform and oversee minor repairs and general maintenance duties
Monitor equipment and building systems to detect early signs of wear or malfunction, implementing preventative maintenance measures proactively
Manage scheduling and payroll for environmental services staff.
Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of department team members.
Conduct regular audits of cleanliness, safety, and physical plant standards.
Contribute to infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and health and safety protocols.
Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks; troubleshoot building systems as needed.
Manage maintenance requests and coordinate work with vendors and Head Office.
Support budget planning and ensure responsible departmental spending.
What We're Looking For:
Post-secondary education in environmental services, facilities management, hospitality.
Hands-on experience in building maintenance or skilled trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry) is required.
2-3 years of supervisory experience in environmental services, preferably in seniors' living or hospitality.
Certification in a recognized trade is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of maintenance practices and building systems is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
A proactive, resident-first approach and a commitment to quality and safety.
