In this role you will get to perform field activities and office activities related to the collection, assessment, and reporting of environmental data. This is a site-based position and non-local candidates will work on a rotational fly-in/fly-out basis. What You\'ll Be Doing: As much of the assignment will involve travel and work in remote areas, the successful candidate must be able to act independently, exercise sound judgment, and have a good sense of humour. Typical duties will include the following:
  • Collection of surface and groundwater water samples
  • Measurement of field parameters
  • Preparation of notes and observations
  • Collection of data according to prescribed procedures, processes and standards
  • Surveying the locations of data collection points
  • Entering and validation of data in various software
  • Use of specialized equipment to monitor and analyze samples
  • Assisting with management of environmental data
  • Assisting with preparation of technical reports
  • Participation in a wide variety of contaminated site investigations and remediation projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:
  • Earth Sciences or Biology Technologist Diploma or equivalent
  • >2 years of experience in planning and conducting environmental investigations and monitoring; Mine site field work experience preferred
  • Laboratory analyses experience an asset
  • Proven ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
  • Experience operating equipment including ATV\xe2\x80\x99s, snowmobile, and boats an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg
  • Valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Proficient computer skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
