Under the direction and guidance of the Director, Environment, Regulatory, & IMS for the Inuvialuit Energy Security Project, the Environmental Lead will be a full-time position responsible for the implementation and continual improvement of the IESP Environmental Management Plans. The Environmental Lead works with employees, contractors, management, and interested stakeholders to ensure IESP is compliant with regulations, and approval conditions, and operates as a good steward of the environment. The position will be involved in assessment, sampling, and monitoring, emergency preparedness and response using Incident Command System, and developing environmental best practices in collaboration with local community leaders and regulators. It is anticipated that construction of the IESP will begin in Fall of 2023 and will be conducted in several phases over 2 years. Once construction is complete, the IESP will enter the operational phase which is anticipated to last more than 50 years.
