The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will support the business unit\'s safety function by planning, implementing, and overseeing safety in the workplace and for ensuring Wexxar employees are adhering provincial and company policies. In this role you will\xe2\x80\xa6.

• Partner with external Safety and Health Consultants to ensure that facilities are following all regulatory requirements.
• Support the day-to-day health and safety requirements in the facility by identifying risk areas, suggest and implement solutions to minimize risks
• Support the Health and Safety policy and program implementation and the writing of work safety instructions; conduct training to ensure all employees are up to date on required safe work practices.
• Ensure employees are up to date on their health and safety training and ensure corresponding documents and tracking
• Manage third party portals as it pertains to all EH&S reporting requirements.
• Be a certified member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and take the lead on ensuring the success of the committee.
• Ensure a safe workspace by immediately identifying and arranging for correction of workplace facility and housekeeping issues.
• Liaise with the division leadership team to ensure employees are following safety regulations and guidelines and company policies and procedures related to workplace safety on each facility.
• Partner with Corporate EHS Director to align with Initiates, Strategy, and ongoing compliance related items.

Who we\'re looking for?

• Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management or related degree
• 3-5 years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety management or experience in a similar manufacturing/industrial environment; technical aptitude and experience working with machinery
• Hands-on experience in the implementation of several of the occupational health components within an EHS program
• Experience managing EHS reporting in customer portals
