The Environmental Advisor will report directly to the Environmental Regional Manager and directly support AIMs Ontario feeder yards and Kenney U-Pull locations. In this role the Environmental Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes to maintain environmental, compliance and to support the operational Team to ensure continuous improvement.

*Travel is required to each location but the position can be based in either Hamilton or Burlington*

  • Preparing internal environmental compliance audits and report (visit each site across Ontario @ minimum 2x/year)- travel by car or air
  • Ensuring each feeder site and KUP is up to date and supporting with their spills procedure and plans as well as all environmental plans, training and programs as required by their EASR and/or ECAs
  • Complaint tracking and follow-up for feeder yards/KUP and community engagement
  • Support sites for any questions and/or concerns relating to the environment.
  • Environmental training relating to feeder yards and creating toolbox talks.
  • Preparing compliance and regulatory reports for the MECP, to be reviewed by regional manager
  • Determining any areas of environmental improvement for feeder yards/KUP and communicating to the regional manager
  • Providing administrative support to the Regional Manager as required such as requisitions, quotes relating to the environment.
  • Coordinating and working with contractors and engineering for site maintenance and compliance
  • Coordination of monitoring activities and calendar (ie, water sampling, OGS cleaning, maintenance logs, etc)
  • Aid the regional manager in the collection of any environmental data or information required for permit requests, etc.
  • Ensure the coordination and proper management of the residual materials on the sites (inventory tracking, transport, disposal, RPRA)
  • Ensure all environmental data (reports, spreadsheets) is identified, documented, and archived as per procedures.
  • Aid the regional manager with any information required for the ECA/EASR applications or updates for feeder yards/KUP.
Qualifications
  • You have 1+ years of environmental experience.
  • University or College degree in a related field.
  • The ability to effectively work within a group and problem solve.
  • The ability to organize, plan and prioritize work requirements effectively.
  • You have strong computer knowledge including Microsoft applications and other web applications.
  • Valid driver\'s license.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
