The Capital City of Yellowknife is located in the Northwest Territories, where temperatures fluctuate from lows of -50 to highs of +30 degrees Celsius. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Environment and Climate Coordinator with the Planning & Development Department. Under the general director of the Manager, Planning and Lands, the incumbent plans, develops, implements and monitors various energy, climate change and environmental projects. This includes, but is not limited to, the research, development and implementation of the City\'s Community Energy Plan (CEP), municipal GHG emissions reduction plan and climate change mitigation and adaptation policies and plans. The Coordinator is responsible to support environmental programs that help the City of Yellowknife achieve its goals.

The work requires a degree from a recognized university in an environmental, engineering, climate change or related field, as well as a minimum of three (3) years\' experience related to municipal energy plans, climate change, and other environmental projects. The incumbent must hold a valid Class 5 driver\'s license.
The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary range of $85,780.84 - $103,445.91 and a fully comprehensive benefits package including monthly housing and vacation travel allowances, and a defined benefit pension plan.
