We are seeking experienced an Enterprise Systems Technologist (SysAdmin) to join our fast-paced Windows team.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Infrastructure Service, this role provides advanced technical support to a variety of technology systems as well as critical business and public safety applications for E-Comm, its partners and clients. In this role, you will monitor system performance and capacity management, ensuring that base performance standards are met, whilst maintaining high service availability. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the security and integrity of operating systems and applications, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical incidents and issues, whilst serving as an escalation point for critical incident support, and performing root cause analysis for problems affecting production services and core systems.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that core infrastructure including servers, network storage, tape systems, virtualization environments and hosted applications meet base performance standards and availability commitments
  • Engaging in continuous service improvement to help enhance performance of critical CAD, RMS and communications systems; growing service capacity and improving quality of existing services
  • Deploying and maintaining infrastructure resources in accordance with established standards, procedures and configuration processes, as well as installing and configuring physical or virtual server environments
  • Developing and maintaining advanced system/shell scripts to automate critical system processes and services
  • Responding to escalated alerts and troubleshooting complex incidents and service performance issues
Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365 Citrix, Netapp SAN environments, VMware, Cisco UCS would be highly beneficial.

This role will suit an experienced technical support specialist who possesses a positive attitude and a customer-first mindset. You will be comfortable acting as a technical expert, making recommendations on solutions to service delivery clients, users and other stakeholders.

Note: Paid after hours on-call monitoring is required on a rotational basis; there is also the opportunity for paid overtime.

What you\'ll need:
  • Completion of a degree or diploma program in computer science or a related discipline plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical support role
  • ITIL Foundation v3 or later accreditation preferred
  • In depth understanding of the Windows operating systems in an Active Directory (AD) environment
  • Knowledge of best practices in technology service management (ITSM; ITIL), IT security, and data centers
  • Knowledge of centralized storage management and protocols (FC, NFS, CIFS, ISCSI)
  • Microsoft PowerShell scripting

Security Requirements:

As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is five [5] years.

To qualify for this process, a candidate may either be a Canadian Permanent Resident [PR] or Canadian Citizens. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.

Vaccination Requirements: E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
