Overview:
On behalf of a Vancouver-based client, we are seeking an Enterprise Architect on a part-time 2-year contract to conduct technical analysis and strategic planning in support of our client\xe2\x80\x99s critical growth phase. The Company is in a growth stage and has a variety of digital platforms and services that support corporate activities and the delivery of construction project services. These platforms and services are integrated with government and comply with government standards issued by Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). For example, the company utilizes core government technology services including desktop provisioning, network services, authentication services, email services, shared file services, print services etc. We are seeking one individual, an experienced Enterprise Architect (EA) with at least 10 years experience to create an Information Technology Strategic plan/Digital Roadmap to support government\xe2\x80\x99s digital plan. Extensive experience is required in both EA-related technical disciplines and strategic planning. In addition, the Contractor will provide EA technical guidance and recommendations to various business services represented by internal and external stakeholders on multiple projects currently underway.

What you must have:
Working with the corporate IT Team, the Enterprise Architect will be required to work independently and with project teams, business experts, and technical leads on various projects to support the migration of information and completion of the Strategic Plan. In addition, the Enterprise Architect will provide the following services, which are not limited to:

Assist with development of future Enterprise Architecture:

Develop an approach and model to increase the maturity of the processes and practices to support Enterprise Architecture function

Develop the assessment of current architecture framework and processes

Document, at a high-level the current enterprise architecture, including business, information, infrastructure, tools and technology, information architecture, application architecture, internal and external interface architecture

Provide enterprise architecture guidance and advice

Develop materials to effectively communicate the role and benefits of the Enterprise Architecture function to Executive and Management team.

Advise and assist business stakeholders and project delivery teams in aligning within enterprise architecture standards & principles while promoting reusability, interoperability, use of shared resources and services, flexibility, and agility of the business solutions.

Assist with company and Province standard privacy and security process and policies.

Assist with development of Security and Threat Risk Assessment (STRA) and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA).

Develop privacy and security deliverables include business specific details.

Conduct technology assessments and generate recommendations, rationale, and impacts:

Assess the current technical and business architecture against current and emerging business needs

Develop roadmaps to reflect priority initiatives to progress towards target outcomes highlighting dependencies

Assist with developing the technical roadmap and estimates as input to the overall cost estimates and technology investment.

Assist with development of current solution architecture:

Facilitate impact analysis of the changes driven by the business, evolution of technologies (involving cloud technologies), and/or external factors (e.g. vendor product roadmaps, technology trends etc.) to determine what can be scaled and what must be replaced/upgraded;

Liaise with the product vendor to implement changes to the solution (COTS, Custom, Hybrid etc.,)

Evaluate systems engineering, operations, and security models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities; provide guidance to improve the solution efficiency and security

Create business architecture models to reflect the organization\xe2\x80\x99s strategies and goals and align the technology target state with business vision; contribute to the strategy documentation from the business area perspective

Serve as an advisor to the business on information integration strategies through assisting with architectural alignment discussions and solution feasibility analysis

Lead setting up automated software deployment process or pipelines

Work closely with the executive, management and key staff responsible for solution development projects to leverage existing work and conduct interviews, where required, to establish an understanding of the business drivers, objectives and vision to align the Enterprise Architecture Solution with their needs

Liaise with the working group to determine requirements and document as required according to the IM/IT deliverable process or other methodology as required

Assist with facilitating working group sessions, discussions, tracking and documentation

Prepare presentations for IM/IT or/and business management; and

Track project costs and expenses to monitor all variance.

Reporting on status of services and deliverables on regular basis, as requested

Conducting a review of existing IM/IT network infrastructure

Specification of enterprise architecture artifacts, such as reference architectures, conceptual architecture and enterprise technology roadmaps that span all/any architectural domain

Develop an overall project schedule, including timelines and milestones.

Identifying enterprise architecture artifacts, such as reference architectures, conceptual architecture, and enterprise technology roadmaps that span all/any architectural domain.

Reviewing and documenting the current system

Developing and promoting consistent architecture methods, standards, and tools

Providing input in the development of a final IM/IT Approved Strategic Plan with recommendations.

Working with various project teams directed by IT department as a resource and advisor to develop strategic road maps

Define strategic roadmaps to support business direction.
