Enhanced Life Skills Worker

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking an enhanced life skills worker to join our Immigrant Services department! In this role, you will be responsible for intensive and enhanced short-term life skills and home visits to case-managed clients and other newcomers eligible for IRCC settlement services. The enhanced life skills worker is responsible for updating the client database and promoting the services by conducting outreach activities and presentations to community groups.

Enhanced life skill worker:

based on assessed needs, help clients access appropriate community resources, deliver life skills to clients through home visits, community outings, and experiences (may include trips to the grocery store, bank, outreach centers, etc.), assist families in adapting and becoming aware of Canadian norms and skills to better integrate into Canadian society, accompany clients to critical appointments, develop, update, and prepare life skills manuals and hand-outs, and maintain a high level of client confidentiality.

Required skills and qualifications:

an undergraduate degree and/or diploma in human services, social work, psychology, sociology, anthropology, or education. A combination of education and experience may be considered, a level 3 AAISA Certification, proven high levels of proficiency in computer skills, and extensive knowledge of Lethbridge community resource networks.

All new employees must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.
