We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate enhanced early childhood worker to create a nurturing and safe environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in the preschool age. This role involves engaging children in educational activities, ensuring their safety, and supporting their developmental needs.
Duties
Supervise and engage children in preschool age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development.
Provide care for preschool-aged children, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining hygiene.
Implement behavior management strategies to foster a positive environment.
Assist with special education needs for children with developmental delays.
Maintain a clean and organized classroom or daycare setting.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns.
Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a cohesive learning experience.
Plan and execute educational activities that support childhood development milestones.
Education/Experience
The Enhanced Staff will meet one of the following Educational and/or Experience criteria:
a. College diploma (2 years) and/or University degree in Early Childhood Education, registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
b. College diploma (2 years) and/or University degree in a field relevant to working with children (eg. Child and Youth Worker, Recreation and Leisure, Educational Assistant, Bachelor of Education);
c. Early Childhood Education student currently enrolled in a college program and has successfully completed a minimum of 2 semesters, with relevant working experience;
d. Enrollment in the Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeship Program and actively pursuing certification in Early Childhood Education with significant experience working with children.
Must have the following items
Vulnerable sector police check (less than 3 months old)
Valid standard first-aid and level C CPR
Tetanus (less than 10 years)
MMR
Medical letter from doctor stating you are medically fit to work in a childcare centre
Please note, this is a contract position until December 19, 2025, and would be extended depending on the need of the classroom.
