Role Overview:


We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Writing Tutor to guide students in developing advanced composition skills and preparing for international writing competitions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of mentoring award-winning students in prestigious global contests.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide one-on-one and group instruction in creative, academic, and competition-focused writing. Design customized lesson plans to help students excel in contests such as: The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards John Locke Institute Essay Competition New York Times Student Review Contest MIT THINK Scholars Program Other international platforms Mentor students through all stages of writing: brainstorming, drafting, revising, and polishing. Track student progress and tailor strategies to maximize competition success.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or a related field.

Demonstrable experience

coaching students who have won awards in international writing competitions. In-depth knowledge of diverse writing genres (e.g., essay, fiction, nonfiction, persuasive writing). Strong familiarity with judging criteria and submission requirements of major writing contests. Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire young writers.

Preferred Attributes:



Published work or professional writing background. Experience with digital tools/platforms for writing and feedback. Flexible schedule to accommodate student and competition timelines.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

Work Location: In person
