Job Description

Reading Town Oakville offers English programs to K-12 students, including ESL learners.

We are seeking 1 part-time reading and writing teacher for our

in-person

classes beginning in Oct. 14, 2025; at least one-year commitment to this position is required, and training for the role would be arranged a week prior.

The ideal candidate will have a completed BA degree at North American universities with English teaching experience and competence in essay writing. Knowledge of grammar and the ability to explain basic grammatical concepts is desired. Volunteer tutoring experience is considered valid as is experience teaching/tutoring students.

Full training and all teaching materials are provided; no lesson planning is needed.
A reading level test and book report marking will be administered after the initial interview.

This position pays $29 per hour at approximately 13-16 hours per week to start. (4-8pm on Tuesday- Thursday, 10-2 Saturday) After the probation period (2 months), it will be increased to $30 per hour.
