Overview:
Gobind Sarvar School, a dynamic faith-based educational institution committed to fostering student-centered growth, is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Arts and Humanities Teacher for grades 7 to 9 to join our team. Our school has experienced significant growth over the past five years, and we are dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that encourages inquisitive thinking, self-exploration, and holistic development.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with Alberta Education curriculum standards for English Language Arts and Humanities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and collaboration.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests of individual students and groups.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching methodologies, resources, and assessment strategies to enhance student understanding and achievement.
• Integrate multicultural and interdisciplinary perspectives into curriculum delivery to help students connect their learning to real-world contexts.
• Utilize technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement in the classroom.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and achievement.
• Participate actively in professional development opportunities and collaborative team meetings to continuously improve teaching practice and contribute to the school\'s academic goals.
• Uphold the school\'s values and beliefs, including covering one\'s head with a bandana while on school property, adhering to vegetarian dietary guidelines, and promoting a culture of mindfulness and community connection.

Qualifications:

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate is required.
• Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education.
• Teaching experience of at least 1 year (preferred).
• Understanding of diverse teaching methodologies and multiple intelligences.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a supportive learning environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
