Position Summary

Position Summary:
Assigned duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting instructors with class preparation;
  • Monitoring tests and exams;
  • Facilitating classes or tutorial sessions (in cases of remote-delivered or hybrid courses, these may be conducted online);
  • Online and/or in-person tutoring through the English Department Writing Centre;
  • Supporting student writing and learning;
  • Assist with student email/discussion board inquiries and postings;
  • Communication with students in in-person office hours, via email, and/or in online consultations;
  • Marking to a rubric established by the instructor; and
  • Other teaching-related duties as assigned by instructor.
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 60 credit hours of University education, including at least 18 credit hours of English;
  • Preference will be given to English graduate, honours, or major students;
  • An average of at least 70% in their major, or equivalent standing from another University;
  • An overall average of at least 65%, or equivalent standing from another University;
  • Strong academic writing skills; and,
  • Teaching or tutoring experience, or related leadership experience, will be an asset.
Successful applicants will be trained.
